I started kayaking in a little kayaking club in my hometown, Salt, Catalonia, on a tiny river that has water 3 months per year and which at that time had nothing but a few eddies. I was about 8 and I didn't like it at all, I specially detested wet gear...
It was just a matter of time that things were going to start to change; in 2004 I attended as an spectator to my first Freestyle event ever, the European Championships in Sort, there my view over the kayaking world completely changed.
My parents got me my first freestyle kayak ever, it was one of the happiest days of my childhood and I started to paddle it more and more often.
In 2007 and being only 13 I already won the Spanish Championship as a Junior (under 18) but couldn't attend to the Worlds in Buseater because I was considered to be too young.
In 2008 I first made it in the Spanish Team, in 2009 I made finals in the World Championships in Thun as the youngest competitor in the event. In 2010 I became European Champion in Junior and in 2011 ViceWorld Champion also in Junior.
In 2012, one of my best seasons ever I won the European Championships in my first year as a Senior and became the first paddler to win in both Junior and Senior classes, I also became 3rd in the World Cup.
In 2013, I screwed up in my first World Championships as a senior, I had huge aspirations but I didn't manage to paddle at my normal standard and missed the semis, big letdown but a good wisdom lesson.
In 2014 I showed my best performance ever and became the best overall european freestyler of the season taking Silver in the Europeans and Bronze in the World Cup.
My point of view/goals:
Paddling is the best way of life I could have ever chosen. I hope that with my passion for the sport I can push kayaking to the next level in a wide range of sceneries; from freestyle competition, expeditions, big wave hunting, first descents and any challenge that may help the sport evolve. My goal is to become one of the best paddlers ever.
